I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
(Psalm 34:4)

Do you ever feel paralyzed by fear? Overwhelming fear is not from God. It is a weapon Satan uses to keep our eyes focused on the circumstances of the fear and off of God.
One of the ways to be freed from fear is to use the system that the psalmist used in today’s verse. He prayed about it. It is easier to worry than to pray, but you will always find prayer the productive alternative.
God clears away both our fears and their causes, all of them without exception. Prayer sweeps the field and slays all the giants. No one can ever seek Him in vain when it comes to that which is fearful.
If you deal with paralyzing fear, surrender the situation to the Lord and be willing to say yes to whatever He says to your heart. It is His will for you to be set free. Sometimes God delivers us quickly. Other times, it’s a gradual process. Layer by layer, He restores us to the people He created us to be.
Seek also to be led by the Holy Spirit daily and feed your mind regularly on the word of God. Seek out the promises of God in the Bible and make them a living part of you. Your believing and standing on those promises has the power to break every foothold of fear the devil has on you.
Many may be the fears of God’s people, both from within and from without, by reason of sin, Satan, and the world. However, as we cast our cares upon him, we will experience freedom that He alone can give.
